Why We Started
Tracey Kallas, the passionate owner and founder of K2, has always dreamed of having a zoo. From a young age, surrounded by a diverse array of animals, she quickly recognized the remarkable intelligence, playful humor, and boundless curiosity of the Rat Terrier, one of the most captivating small dog breeds. They say dogs mirror their owners—and for Tracey, the Rat Terrier proved that big personalities can come in small packages. Inspired by her deep admiration for this breed, Tracey started her dog breeding business to share their unique qualities with others. Her mission is to connect families with these spirited companions, believing that every home can benefit from their energy, loyalty, and charm.
What We Love
The K2 passion for Rat Terriers naturally led to the world of dog shows, especially those that celebrate the unique talents of this lively breed. Over the years, K2 dogs, known for their excellence in dog breeding, have picked up blue and red ribbons at local and regional competitions for Best in Breed, agility trials, and obedience—proud reminders of their hard work and personality. These moments in the spotlight are special, but what founder and CEO Tracey loves most is seeing her Rat Terriers enjoy life beyond the show ring with their adopted families. Whether they're racing up the trails of Pikes Peak, sniffing out new scents in Yellowstone, or exploring the edge of the Grand Canyon, her small dog breeds embrace every adventure. For Tracey, watching her dogs thrive—on the podium and out in the world—is the biggest reward of all.
Life on the Farm
Before they find their forever homes, Tracey's Rat Terriers enjoy an ideal start to life on a spacious farm, where they thrive alongside chickens, goats, and other animals. As part of her dog breeding program, Tracey ensures that these small dog breeds have plenty of room to roam safely. The puppies receive excellent care and have endless opportunities to play together. Life on the farm fosters their social skills, adaptability, and confidence as they learn to interact with both animals and people. This nurturing environment guarantees that each Rat Terrier is healthy, happy, and ready to become a cherished companion.
